Ajith shed weight

TRACK THIS Ajith Kumar
Apr 1, 2010: Ajith Kumar has shed about 12 kilos to take part actively in the FIA Formula 2 championship. This will be the actor's third season in international racing after his 2003 debut in the Formula BMW Asia championship in Korea and the 2004 British Formula 3 Scholarship Class, where he scored two podium finishes.

'I have the confidence of achieving some success in this year's FIA Formula 2 European Championships. I have already done some testing in Malaysia recently and am looking forward to more practice runs in Snetterton and Silverstone before the event kicks off on April 16,' he says.

Ajith adds: 'I hope my participation along with the other two Indians, Armaaan Ebrahim and Parthiva Sureshwaran will create the right amount of interest in the sport in India.'

F2 Series Director Jonathan Palmer said: 'I am delighted to welcome Ajith to F2. To have a well known Indian film star who has demonstrated such ambition now racing in F2 is very exciting for the championship, and I really admire Ajith's determination and enthusiasm.'

Indian squad for T20 world cup at West Indies.

NEW DELHI: In the midst of the Indian Premier League, the national selectors, on Friday, picked the 15-member squad for Twenty20 Cricket World Cup which begins next month in the West Indies.

Gautam Gambhir and Ashish Nehra, who suffered injuries recently, were named in the squad to be led by MS Dhoni.

Ishant Sharma, S Sreesanth, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Virat Kohli were not picked for the championship's third edition in the Caribbean from April 30-May 16.

Piyush Chawla and Vinay Kumar are the new faces in the otherwise tried and tested Indian squad.

Impressive performers in IPL like Robin Uthappa of RCB, Saurabh Tiwary of MI and Murali Kartik of Kolkata Knight Riders were not part of the 30-strong list picked last month.

India are in Group C with South Africa and qualifiers Afghanistan in the preliminary league phase of the 12-team event and their first match is against the Afghans on May 1.

In last June's Twenty20 World Cup in England, India's defence for the title they won with much fanfare in 2007 in South Africa was affected because of injuries to key players Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan.

Squad:

MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Piyush Chawla, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Vinay Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Praveen Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan.

Haydos the Hero.

It was amazing to see a man shining high  at IPL, sending the ball out of the park, almost every bowler he faced.. To my surprise it was not a young guy doing this, but a 38 yrs old macho, who was a great threat to opposition.. This Australian cricketer drove my attentions which predilection me to find some interesting fact about him. I feel great to share those information about this great cricketer with my viewers.

Last weeks fiasco

Last weeks Western Warriors poor performance is due N number of reasons. Among those reason three things stands in the front. First of all the poor short selection by the batsman resulted in a slow start which never led the run rate to climb above 4. Next is the discipline of the bowlers which failed to pick wickets at regular interval. Finally sluggish fielding failed to convert those half chances. So what are the necessary skill that should be developed in order to end the match on winning note. Members of the Western Warriors team are invited to post your suggestions on the above topic.
